CONTENT
The article demonstrates how daisy wheel compass geometry is the source of two specific rectangles and that this is the fastest, easiest and most accurate way to construct them. The rectangles are formed when either four or all six of the daisy wheel's six petal tips on the circle's circumference are linked. They are named, appropriately, as the four point rectangle and the six point rectangle, the former being exactly half the area of the latter. The four point rectangle is more commonly known as a root 3 rectangle but this is a modern term that was unheard of in the medieval period when it was a major source of architectural proportion.

The square and double square can also be constructed from the daisy wheel.
