TITLE Twenty Two Useful Geometries for Carpenters
FORMAT Golden Rectangle 250 x 154 mm / 26 pages / full colour
CONTENT A series of twenty two geometrical constructions that have relevance to practical timber frame carpentry. Geometrical drawing instructions are given from first principles to enable accurate constructions to be made. The descriptive texts are kept to a simple minimum but introduce topics such as division of timber widths and lengths into odd numbers of precision divisions without the use of rulers or calculators. The constructions of root 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 rectangles, the golden rectangle and ogival arches are given.
